The Eighth Sun Rises Again in Gerash

۷Berkeh: “The Eighth Sun” is the name of a religious symposium that was held for the second time in Gerash this year, from August 10th to 14^th, in Hazrat Abolfazl mosque.

The symposium was a commemoration of “Ten Days of Munificence” which is between the birthdays of Hazrat Masoumeh (PBUH) and Imam Reza (PBUH). Therefore, the two administrations of the holy shrines of Imam Reza (Astan Quds Razavi) in Mashhad and Hazrat Masoumeh in Qom, along with the holy shrine of Shah-Cheragh in Shiraz, cooperated with Sun’s Narrative Religious Institute in Gerash in holding this symposium.

Mohammad Ali Shamohammadi, the director of Sun’s Narrative Religious Institute, says the symposium was received warmer than he expected by the fellow-citizens: “We tried to hold an even more magnificent symposium than last year”.

The symposium had four different sections: the main section was the recreation of the holy shrine of Imam Reza using plateaus and big pictures all around the yard of Hazrat Abolfazl mosque. “This exhibition was 40 percent different and more realistic than that of the last year,” says Mohammad Rostampour, the executive manager of the symposium.

The second section was comprised of religious sermons and speeches and other religious programs. The participation of the servants of the three holy shrines from Mashhad, Qom and Shiraz, and carrying of the holy flags was the third section of the symposium. In the fourth section, a few stalls where installed outside the mosque in order to offer cultural and artistic goods and artifacts.
