The symposium was a commemoration of “Ten Days of Munificence” which is between the birthdays of Hazrat Masoumeh (PBUH) and Imam Reza (PBUH). Therefore, the two administrations of the holy shrines of Imam Reza (Astan Quds Razavi) in Mashhad and Hazrat Masoumeh in Qom, along with the holy shrine of Shah-Cheragh in Shiraz, cooperated with Sun’s Narrative Religious Institute in Gerash in holding this symposium. Mr. Karim Sa’adat, the present owner of the house, announced this decision on behalf of Sa’adat family as He was visiting the house accompanied by members of his family and active members of Gerash ICOMOS a few days ago. The mound is composed of stone and red soil and is located among palm groves on the south-east of Gerash. Objects and remnants of constructions found around this mound show that this area has been the dwelling place of the first inhabitants of Gerash, reaching back to the Sassanid period about two millenniums ago. Stories tell that these inhabitants were followers of Zoroastrianism (called “Gabr” in local language.)
